Cheddar bread

Cheddar bread

Preparation Time: 2 - 3 hours       Cooking Time: 30 minutes or less        Serves: 15 
 
 Ingredients:

Makes 2 loaves or 16 rolls or 1 loaf & 8 rolls

2 packages active dry yeast
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 1/2 cups warm water (105° - 115° F)
1/2 cup milk
3 tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons salt
5 1/2 - 6 cups flour
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Glaze & topping
1 large egg
1 tablespoon water
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

In a medium bowl, dissolve yeast and suger in warm water. Let stand until foamy, 5 - 10 minutes. 
  
 
 Step 1:

In a saucepan, head milk, butter and salt over low heat until butter has melted. Cool to lukewarm (95° - 105° F).
